Hello everyone! I am Karen from Virginia. Is anyone actually making money on this site? That is my objective!
Welcome to the group. Good question. Yes, there are many people here who are making money with their websites. However, given that most of the members have signed up over the past few months, most people here are still feeling their way through the program. Additionally, some people have signed up just to review books and be part of the community. They aren’t motivated by money. That’s fine. Read on and you’ll see how that benefits you.
The trick to this program, and any online business, is to be good at connecting with your audience. The value a reviewer offers is a two part equation = writing reviews + audience building / marketing. The system here separates the review process from the income generation process in order to eliminate conflicts of interest. If you are going to just write reviews each week and forget about building your audience, then you probably won’t earn much money. You also won’t have much fun and you won’t build a name for yourself as a reviewer. Alternatively, you could just build your audience and promote the value of the group (e.g. all of the reviews the group is creating). This is the exposure that authors in your audience are seeking. Then, you’ll leverage the group’s efforts (all the people mentioned above who are here just to review) and make money with only half the effort. However, if you are a lit lover, I’m sure simply building an audience and marketing won’t be enough. You’ll quickly find yourself lost between the pages.
This is a long answer, but it’s an important question. You need to ask yourself if you have what it takes to complete the training, build your own business, perform the audience building / marketing, and the desire to stick with it. If you love reading and would have started a review site anyhow, then this is a great fit for you. They say do what you love and the money will follow. The reason is the “desire to stick with it”. Often, the payoff doesn’t come within the first week or two. It comes with lots of up front effort. This program helps get you up the learning curve faster, and it gives you all the tools you’ll need to succeed. There’s a lot of material and it can feel overwhelming at first. However, if you stick with it, you could be earning money within a month.
Ditto to what Chris said. You get out of this site what you put into it. If you’re expecting quick and easy pay days, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you’re willing to put in the work to build your site and expand your audience, AND do the marketing, you’ll see your hard work pay off.
It took me a couple months to get everything going, but now that I’m established, sales come pretty regularly (when I do the marketing, of course. Sometimes I get complacent–that’s when the sales stop!)
Good luck! If you have questions let us know!
